About Us

We are an insurance agency located in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina, specifically in Durham. We serve clients all over the state of NC. The owner, Eddie Gilchrist, had a successful career for several years with a well-known multiline insurance company domiciled here in NC. Eddie made a decision almost two years ago to become an independent agent and open his own agency.

An independent agency differs from multiline insurance companies like State Farm, Nationwide, Allstate, Farm Bureau, etc. We have the ability to represent scores of companies, so that customers can choose which company offers the best service, package, and pricing, all within one agency. RTP Insurance has specific appointments with several companies listed on our Carriers page, but has the ability to shop literally thousands of companies if you have a more "specialized" insurance need.
